New migrant caravan heading for US border

A newcaravan of Central American migrants has begun trekking north through Mexico, threatening further chaos along the United States’ southern border. Thousands of people pushed through police lines in the southern Mexican city of Tapachula at the weekend, aiming for Mexico City and also the US. Most are fleeing poverty and violence in pandemicravaged Central America or Haiti. Mexico has received more than 90,000 asylum claims this year, creating a bottleneck in Tapachula, near the border with Guatemala.
