Dosage numbers

I’m not a fan of percentages unless you know what the base numbers are that you are working from.

However, minister Chris Hipkins is assuming we’re idiots and can’t do the maths. He is taking the numbers approach because the percentage values are so appallingly low; 1,553,000 Pfizer doses have been administered but this represents only 16 per cent of the population based on 4.8 million people requiring 9.6m doses (two shots per person).

628,000 have received two doses; this represents just 13% of the population fully vaccinated. Given these low numbers I’m pleased to hear that our travel bubble has been closed to all of Australia. Otherwise it would have been just a matter of days before it penetrated our border.
