Climate protests continue

The Extinction Rebellion protest group has a third day of action planned today, with activists in cow costumes set to march from Parliament to Te Aro Park.

They have warned that today’s protest could ‘‘get messy,’’ while police and Wellington City Council are warning of travel disruptions.

A group of about 50 people marched through the city then gathered on Parliament’s lawn yesterday to demand more urgent action on climate change ahead of the COP26 international climate conference in Glasgow.
