Plans lack thought

The Labour Government’s latest plans to increase the amount of housing in New Zealand has obviously been given as much thought as everything else it does.

Many of our residential streets are already dangerously lined with parked cars from properties that have little or no onsite parking available.

This can only get worse. There will also be more people sharing driveways and spots at the kerb to put out rubbish.

Add to this the failure of local councils to adequately police building codes and their own bylaws etc and prudently manage their responsibilities except for (funnily enough) collecting parking fines.

The plan is about as useless as National’s latest proposals to provide spending money for ordinary people etc.

This is obviously an attempt to bolster

the housing market for speculators, landlords and real estate agents. Carole Naylor, Papakowhai
