A big leap

It is so strange how many people who hindered the worldwide attempt to combat Covid-19 suddenly went from ‘‘it’s nothing, less than the ‘flu’’ to the other extreme: ‘‘this thing’s so big we cannot do anything about it!’’.

The same thing is happening with climate change denyaholics, flipping from ‘‘it’s nothing’’ to ‘‘it is too great and too late’’, without passing through the rational middle ground. And without recognising the logical incompatibility of their two states of mind.
