Hikoi reveals ‘wants and needs’

A hikoi to 11 schools in Christchurch has provided the design team of the Te Ta¯ toru o Wairau Blenheim schools rebuild project an understanding of some ‘‘wants and needs’’ the schools may have.

The Te Tumu design team were joined on the hikoi by staff and trustees from Bohally Intermediate School and the Marlborough Technology Centre, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Education.

A team from Marlborough Girls’ College and Marlborough Boys’ College are expected to visit secondary schools in Christchurch on December 7.

Bohally principal Nicky Cameron-dunn said the trip was an excellent opportunity to visit schools that had gone through rebuilds, and to look at the use of space and how they had configured that to best meet learning needs.
