Breach notice for Hopoate

John Hopoate has been issued a breach notice by NSWRugby League for unauthorised entry to the field of play after a brawl erupted during an SG Ball trial in Sydney on Saturday. After an investigation, former player Henry Alesi was named by the NSWRL as the ‘aggressor’ in a fight that erupted with a fellow spectator during the clash between South Sydney and Manly at Erskineville Oval. Alesi is not currently registered but the NSWRL said he faces a ban from being registered, should he seek it, in all competitions for this season. The other spectator involved in the fight, Manly Jersey Flegg player Siua Fotu, was given a ‘formal reprimand’ by Manly after it was determined he did not instigate the confrontation. After the pair traded blows, Hopoate entered the field of play, which has landed him in hot water with officials. The former Manly winger has 14 days to respond to the breach notice.
