Volunteers needed to deliver food
The Student Volunteer Army (SVA) is appealing for volunteers to help pack and deliver food boxes to Auckland families of Covid-19 patients isolating at home with no food, money or family support. The SVA says it has been hearing of people in ‘‘pretty dire situations’’, and has agreed to make contactless delivery of 200 food boxes this weekend. Volunteers are asked to sign up via the SVA website to shop at a Mt Albert supermarket in two shifts on behalf of families in need and deliver the food, a process which will take 2-3 hours. Call centre assistance is also needed.
