Rugby silverware galore with the Crusaders.

‘‘Something you learn is success doesn’t just happen, and it’s important you don’t take winning for granted. It was cool being part of that first Tasman NPC title, but I was able to see the way we grew over those 3-4 years before that. You understand the little things it takes to win those big games.’’

It hasn’t all been smooth sailing. He missed his rookie Super Rugby season with the Crusaders when it took seven months to figure out an innerear problem that caused all sorts of difficulties.

Last year groin issues slowed him significantly.

Two moments stand out as he reflects on the past 12 weeks.

‘‘In Perth against Australia we faced plenty of adversity. There was a red card, and we were under [the cosh]. At the time that was probably my best performance in the black jersey, and a game I took a lot of confidence from.

‘‘In terms of shivers down the spine, it’s hard to go past that game [in Cardiff] . . . to experience the sheer volume of the anthems, the chants, the atmosphere, it was just cool to be out there.’’

Now Jordan just wants more. ‘‘That’s the goal,’’ he smiles. And a win in the weekly golf haggle.
