Twizel arrest over shooting in Palmy

A 28-year-old Manawatu man was arrested in Twizel yesterday afternoon in relation to a shooting in Palmerston North this month. The shooting took place at a house on Coventry St in the suburb of Highbury on November 2, leaving a man in a critical condition with a gunshot wound, reportedly to the head. The arrested man will appear in the Timaru District Court tomorrow on a charge of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, police said. Police are still seeking another man in relation to the matter and inquires are ongoing, but they do not know whether the other man is also in South Canterbury.
