Man’s disappearance ‘out of character’

The search is on for a 63-year-old Ka¯ piti Coast father who left work on Friday and wrote on a whiteboard that he’d return two hours later, but didn’t. Police and members of the public are currently looking for Joe Pryor, of Waikanae. His daughter, Shannon Barclay, said it was ‘‘very out of character’’ for him to leave work during the day, let alone not return at all. ‘‘We just want Dad here for beer and chips,’’ Barclay said through tears. ‘‘I don’t understand where he is. I just want him home.’’
