Ko fires 68 to stay in $2.1m title hunt

Lydia Ko remains right in contention for the NZ$2.1m winner’s cheque in the LPGA Tour Championship in Florida, after firing 68 yesterday in the second round. New Zealand’s world No 5 is at seven-under-par, seven shots behind Celine Boutier (France) who scorched around in 65 to build a four-stroke lead. Gaby Lopez (Mexico), Minjee Lee (Australia) and Mina Harigae (US) were tied for second on 10-under. Ko’s only blemish came on the parfour 15th with bogey, but she notched birdie on 17. NZ’s Danny Lee (69-71) missed the cut by two shots at the PGA’s RSM Classic in Georgia, where USA’s Talor Gooch (64-65) leads by one.
