Tumu Toka CurioScape

At the southern entrance of The Catlins, Curio Bay/Tumu Toka is home to a 180-million-year-old petrified forest and rare, endangered wildlife. It is also home to the small, interactive Tumu Toka CurioScape gateway museum, which does a great job of explaining how vast tracts of ma¯tai and kauri forests were buried under the seafloor, where they became petrified.
