Alker eyes Hawaiian payday as Ko fires 68

Kiwi veteran Steven Alker (66-67) is one shot from the lead entering the final round of the US Champions PGA tour event in Hawaii. Alker fired five birdies yesterday as he continues to shine after joining the over-50s tour last year. Ernie Els, Vijay Singh and Stephen Ames lead at 12-under. NZ star Lydia Ko (71-68) is five shots off leader Nelly Korda (US, 68-66) at the midway point of the LPGA season-opener in Florida. Ko holed four birdies at Lake Nona yesterday, including at 14 and 15, putting her in a three-way tie for ninth.
