Black Caps stars Trent Boult and Lockie Ferguson again look headed for a rich payday at the IPL auction.

The New Zealand quick bowlers were among 49 players who have a base price of the maximum NZ$400,000 for their selection at this year’s mega auction for the Indian Premier League Twenty20 competition.

Boult is likely to remain with the Mumbai Indians, the franchise he helped win the 2020 title, while Ferguson spent last season with the Kolkata Knight Riders.

Fellow New Zealanders Adam Milne, Colin Munro, Jimmy Neesham, Glenn Phillips and Tim Southee are part of a group with a base price of approximately NZ$300,000, while the Black Caps trio of Devon Conway, Colin de Grandhomme, Mitchell Santner have a base price of NZ$200,000.

Also among the players with the maximum base price are Australia’s David Warner, Pat Cummins and Steve Smith, India’s Ravi Ashwin, Shreyas Iyer and Shikhar Dhawan and England’s Jason Roy and Mark Wood.

Injured Black Caps skipper Kane Williamson wasn’t listed at auction as he has already been retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad, among 26 other players for the upcoming season.

However, NZ pace bowler Kyle

Jamieson wasn’t retained by Royal Challengers Bangalore after fetching a whopping NZ$2.86 million in last February’s auction – the most by a New Zealander and fourth-highest in the IPL’s 14-year history.

More than 1000 cricketers from 41 countries have put their names forward for the registered auction pool.

The two-day mega auction to decide the make-up of the teams is set to be held in Bengaluru on February 12 and 13, with added interest surrounding player movement due to the addition of two new franchises, Lucknow and Ahmedabad.
