Wild Palms. Filmed in 1993 but set in California in 2007, the mini-series is a cult classic of cyberpunk television. It’s important to note that favourite doesn’t always mean best. But every few years, I find myself rewatching it, and that says something.

I like to get up early, walk to Kilbirnie, and spend an hour at the swimming pool. It’s a form of meditation and relaxation for me. If I push myself, I can swim for 50 metres underwater, which essentially translates to holding my breath for more than a minute. Anytime I pull that o , I feel euphoric.
