15-year-old doesn’t deny Tawa stabbing

A teenager charged over a stabbing in Tawa did not deny the charge in Porirua Youth Court yesterday. In Youth Court not denying the charge is the same as pleading guilty to the charge. Porirua Youth Court judge James Johnston remanded the 15-year-old to June for a family group conference to take place and ordered a psychological report. The teen has been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, however his youth advocate lawyer Craig Smith said he was in discussions with police over whether that was the appropriate charge. Suppressions in youth court prevent identifying the youth involved, or the victim.
