Action on profiteering
Thanks to the Commerce Commission, we’re informed that the two supermarket chains are making $430 million a year in excess profits ( How supermarkets became the all-powerful food gods, May 23). That’s more than $1.18m excess profit every single day.
Perhaps the commission could advise us of the excess profits in the electricity market so we’ll know their daily surcharge?
But the question remains; what are the Commerce Commission and the Government doing about this profiteering?
