Philosophy
I agree with Peter Griffin (Press, Nov 29) that science “remains the best system society has to determine objective reality”.
It’s our philosophy that lets us down. My understanding is that (under current Western philosophy) reality is divided into objects and subjects, and the subject has a mind, and there is nothing else.
This structure doesn’t accommodate forces or energy or waves or fields or even the space-time continuum.
I’m fairly sure these entities are not objects and not subjects, so they must just exist in your mind.
Science is supposed to evolve from philosophy, but it doesn’t look like our science has.
I think the logical conclusion is that our philosophy needs an upgrade.
