Russia’s response
The key points of this current stage of conflict between Russia and the West, through the decision for Ukraine to join Nato, have been well outlined in The Press recently, although the similarity between this situation and the Cuban missile crisis less so.
Interestingly, the US and Nato have been able to achieve their ultimate aim of deploying missiles in Ukraine under the guise of heroically supporting that country’s right to self-determination.
I am no expert on geopolitics, however if my neighbour was to get his mates in and have them threaten my place or family, I would be kicking up a fuss.
Perhaps Russia’s best response is to simply follow the lead and set up similar weapons in Cuba and Venezuela. However, that would probably be reported as a hostile act.
