Shoutout to bus drivers .

I cycle up and down Raroa Rd and Aro Valley every day on my trip to the hospital, where I work.

Big buses are a relatively new feature on this route, but I wish to voice my appreciation of the driving style of the Number 25 (and other?) Metlink bus drivers who (unlike many car and, even worse, motorbike drivers) always give me plenty of room as I make my slow way up the hill without electric assistance.

If the gap is small, they politely wait behind me until they can pass safely – perhaps to the consternation of cars behind them.

There has been some bad press about the buses, but from my perspective they are fantastic.
