This week, two ice-cold recipes that fall delightfully into the treat yourself category.

After a slow start to summer with more rain in December than I can recall, the steady warmth of January is appreciated. Although the rain wasn’t completely unwelcome, as we head into the drier months well soaked soil and full water tank will hopefully keep the garden happy and productive. Here I share recipes to keep us cool on these hot summer afternoons. Iced tea might be somewhat retro, but it is quite the thirst quencher on a hot day. Even better in ice block form. Plus an ice cream cake for a crowd or celebration, which I seem to have a few on the calendar in the coming months.
